Spiritual growth involves connecting more deeply to the Divine, which is our Higher Self and God. We should all want this, and if you’re reading this now it’s probably because you’re on a quest to grow in exactly this sort of way. (Which is beautiful!) However, something few people talk about is the reality that this kind of growth can often come at the expense of people and cherished relationships.
As we change, those around us don’t always want to change alongside us, or even accommodate our change. This can lead to isolation and even estrangement, which is painful to endure, especially while you’re simultaneously enlightening.
I’ve lost a lot of people. A lot. Some of them left effortlessly, a lot of them left incredibly painfully, but ALL of those people cycled out of my life for a very good reason, and I’m grateful they did. In the following video I talk about why spiritual seekers tend to lose people around them, and also why this is often 100% necessary.
